Our Team

Rowan Lewis

Director

Co-founder of ESL, Rowan has built a career in the delivery of infrastructure projects in the rail sector. Having a mechanical engineering background, Rowan started his career in electrification design and has worked across all aspects of major projects including design, construction and commercial management, project management and tendering.

Brett Moore

Director

Co-founder of ESL, Brett is a highly experienced Chartered Civil Engineer and Member of the Engineering Council. His career to date has spanned multiple sectors including building, rail and nuclear.
Brett specialises in the design of rail electrification infrastructure, Design Management and Assurance.

Jamie McDonald

Contracts Manager

Jamie excels at getting the best out of his team and delivering complex projects. Jamie got his Masters in Civil Engineering from Oxford University, he then went on to get his APMP Project Management Qualification. Jamie has extensive engineering experience, particularly in Overhead Line Electrification and Civil Engineering.

Alex Hayman

Project Manager

Alex is a Project Manager with a BSc in Architectural Design & Technology. He brings substantial experience in coordinating complex infrastructure projects. His expertise encompasses civil engineering, overhead line equipment (OLE), and multidisciplinary design management.

Michaela Garnett

Business Support Manager

Michaela is a Chartered Manager with a BSc in Business & Management and a BSc in Psychology. She oversees all Business Support functions, including Office Management, Compliance, HR, and Network Rail sponsorship. Michaela plays a key role in our audits, internal training, and company integration with Barhale.

Fergus Quinn

Senior Project Manager

Fergus is one of ESL’s Senior Project Managers responsible for delivery of our construction projects. He is a degree qualified Civil Engineer with significant experience across a wide range of rail and light rail projects in the UK and Australia.

John Oxtoby

Senior Project Manager

With an extensive background in civil and structural engineering, John is one of ESL’s Senior Project Managers, successfully delivering many of our design projects in the utilities sector.
